First round OVRDC county caucus scheduled Submitted story The Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission (OVRDC) is holding annual county caucus reorganization meetings for Highland County on Wednesday, Feb. 3 at 10:30 a.m. via an online Zoom meeting. Visit www.ovrdc.org for meeting agenda and details. OVRDC Executive Director John Hemmings will conduct the county caucus meetings. Major items on the agenda of this meeting, which is open to the public, include to review and revise caucus membership, to select executive committee members, and to select a project review committee member. Other subjects covered in the meeting include discussion of the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) and Economic Development Administration (EDA) project development, project eligibility, and program changes; and the status of the OVRDC’s various other economic and community development efforts.

OVRDC distributes PPE to counties Staff Report WAVERLY In the days leading up to Christmas, the Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission (OVRDC) arranged for the delivery of much-needed personal protective equipment (PPE) to county officials courtesy of a grant funded through the Governor’s Office of Appalachia. As the COVID pandemic continues unabated, receiving provisions of protective equipment were at the top of everyone’s Wish List this year. Local officials in 12 Southern Ohio counties in the OVRDC service area, including Vinton, Jackson, Highland, Gallia, Lawrence, Scioto, Pike, Ross, Adams, Brown, Fayette, and Clermont, took delivery of shipments Christmas week and will be distributing the supplies out through emergency management services and county health districts.

Fidelis Raises $185M of Capital, Bringing 2020 Total to More than $1.3B December 10, 2020 Fidelis Insurance Holdings Ltd. announced it has raised in the fourth quarter of 2020 an additional $60 million of equity capital from existing and new investor relationships, including Alfa Insurance and affiliated companies with which Fidelis has a long-standing relationship. Additionally, the Bermuda-based company has raised $125 million of 6.625% Fixed-Rate Reset Junior Subordinated Notes due 2041 from institutional investors. The notes are redeemable at the option of the company at each interest reset date which occurs every five years. The notes have received Tier 2 capital treatment under the Bermuda Monetary Authority’s Group Supervision Rules.
