Willow Springs, Mo. - A Willow Springs man was killed in northern Howell County during Friday night flooding. According to the Highway Patrol report, the crash occurred on Highway Y, three miles north of Mountain View at 10:30 p.m. A northbound 2007 Dodge pickup driven by John Heck, 71 of Willow Springs, attempted to drive through high water which swept the vehicle off the roadway and into a creek. Heck was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. This makes the 35th roadway fatality for MSHP Troop G, compared with 39 for the same time in 2020.
