GREEN RIVER John Hastert, 62, of Rock Springs, has pleaded not guilty to charges of solicitation of prostitution and interference with a peace office stemming from an incident at the Clarion Hotel in Rock Springs last Thursday. The former member of both the Wyoming House of Representative and Senate was arrested along with three other individuals following a sting operation involving multiple Wyoming law enforcement agencies. The misdemeanor crimes combined carry a maximum penalty of 18 months in jail and $1,750 in fines. Court documents allege that Hastert was attempting to seek sexual favors from an undercover operative through an adult dating application known as skipthegames.com.

Green River Star -   John Hastert A former Wyoming Legislator from Green River entered not guilty pleas to misdemeanor charges of solicitation of prostitution and interference with a peace officer Friday afternoon. John Hastert, 62, was arrested Thursday after Sweetwater County Sheriff s Office deputies claim Hastert attempted to seek sexual favors from an undercover operative during a sting operation initiated by multiple Wyoming law enforcement agencies. Hastert is also accused of resisting arrest, being taken down by multiple officers as he allegedly tried to avoid being handcuffed. The solicitation of prostitution charge carries a maximum penalty of six months in jail and a $750 fine while the interference with a peace officer charge carries a maximum sentence of one year in jail and a fine of $1,000. Former State Senator, Three Others Arrested in Prostitution Sting Former Wyoming Sen. John Hastert, (D-Sweetwater County) and three other men were arrested in a prostitution sting on Thursday, according to the Sweetwater County Sheriff s Office. The others arrested were Connor Latta, Allen Lee Pahl, and Kenneth Daniel Nosisch, Sheriff s Office spokesman Deputy Jason Mower said. Pahl and Nosich are from the Rock Springs area, and Latta has had residences in Rock Springs and Gillette, Mower said. Each was charged with one count of soliciting an act of prostitution, a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail and a $750 fine, he said. Hastert also was charged with interference with a peace officer during his arrest, Mower added.
