William Humphries also won a superstock race. Midgets are bullets on wheels and produced some great action, with Karl McGill winning the feature. The Manawatū Sidecar Champs was a star-studded line up of 20 machines split into four groups to qualify over three races, with the top five points scorers going on to the three-race final. Keiran Payne, the rider of the 5p Kawasaki ZX10-powered bike, has raced sidecars 33 years in a row.

Joshua Smith wins the ManawatÅ« Saloon Champs. After winning a qualifying heat with a leg in the air, it seemed like the popular racer known as “Wingnut” was in hot contention to take the title, but none of the cream of the sidecar crop were giving an inch.

The last pre-Christmas speedway meeting of the season takes place tonight at Fast Lane Spares Oceanview Family Speedway - and demolition is guaranteed.
A full speedway programme will be capped off by the Gourmet Express Demolition Derby.
Even though there has been no racing at Oceanview for four weeks, Whanganui drivers have been busy.

Discussion continues as to what to name a new township road accepted during a recent Washington County Commission meeting.
The road was built at the southern end of the Warren Local School campus as a way to access the elementary school. As it was built using funds from Ohio Department of Transportation, it could not be owned by the school district, and it could not become a county road because it dead ends.
After it was accepted as a township road, testimony was heard from proponents from both Barlow Township and the school district.
Warren Local School board member Bob Allen asked the commission to designate it “Big Blue Way.”

Peter Rees and Adam Joblin collide during the last lap of the feature race at the Palmerston North speedway meeting.
The Superstock Teams Race may have had nothing riding on the outcome on Saturday night, but they sent out a big warning that teams’ indiscretions could have a big impact on results at the Teams Champs in February. A Palmerston North Select team along with the big squad of Gisborne Giants and Wanganui Warriors raced each other once at the Robertson Holden Speedway. The overall winner was decided by the team accumulating the most points. It would have been won by Wanganui had one driver not been relegated for crossing the pole line to attack a Gisborne driver.
