BREMERTON Inside the old Harrison hospital in Bremerton, colorful handprints and personal messages adorned the first-floor wall last week as staff bid farewell to the historic building and all of its memories.
Jeff Peterson, a registered nurse, wrote down his years of service at the Bremerton hospital: 35 years, 10 months and 21 days. “And, of course, go Cubs!” he said.
Peterson also paid tribute to a friend and co-worker who passed away in 1996. “I hadn’t thought about him in some time,” Peterson said. “Writing his name and his birth and death date, and just a quick message on the wall, it was a little emotional.”
