That would impress all Albertans and should make an impact on a new era of, dare I say it without cringing from overuse, relationships, even reconciliation. It would be really a breath of fresh air. It might even blow us away from COVID.

Re: ‘Bait and switch:’ Questions arise over what reinstated coal policy allows, Feb. 10
I welcome the pause on the coal policy. However, exploration continues and, if my information is correct, the Alberta taxpayer is responsible for any expenses incurred if the mines are subsequently not allowed to proceed.
If I am correct, then this is unacceptable and I think the UCP needs to defend the public interest and find a way to stop the mining companies from continuing to run up expenses for which the public is ultimately responsible.
