Governor newsom has issued a state of emergency for much of Southern California to support hurricane hilary response and recovery efforts. Areas of the inland empire could see a years worth of rain in just a matter of days. There could be significant flooding and debris flows, particularly in areas that are impacted by wildfires on the mainland. Residents are preparing for hurricane hilary by lining lowlying areas with sandbags to it. Ward off flooding and the coast guard is boat owners to keep their vessels in the harbor. In the meantime, menlo park Fire Fighters on instagram posting that their Water Rescue Team has been deployed to Southern California as the storm is set to make landfall tomorrow. But other fast food chains have taken similar measures because of crime taco bell employees tell us it might be because trouble has been caused inside in the window of taco bell on 35th avenue in oakland. Large signs telling customers that the dining room is now closed. The same could be seen at this location on heggen berger. Road customers are being forced to order food through the drivethru. Even this person who didnt have a car tried to order from the window because they werent allowed inside. The vta is seeing a spike in copper thefts from its train tracks this week. The Santa Clara County Sheriffs Office has arrested 2 people suspected of stealing copper and investigators are working to track down others after 2 dozen copper thefts at the Transit System so far this year. Kron 4 Sarah Stinson here in the studio with the details. Sarah. The 2 people arrested are accused of stealing 10,000 worth of copper from the tracks of eta. On monday, a train operator actually witnessed the theft. The Sheriffs Office is now looking for more people involved in a string of recent copper theft cases. These are targeting the Valley Transportation Authority in the south bay, stealing copper from the tracks. The Santa Clara County Sheriffs Office says its investigating 2 dozen copper theft cases causing a total of half
