Sununu, one of the most popular governors in the country, is a pro-choice Republican, whose name has been floated as a potential Senate candidate to run against incumbent Maggie Hassan (D-NH). The Republican legislature included in their budget proposal, among other things, a ban on critical race theory and a ban on abortions past 24-weeks. Last week, the governor signed the budget, as he signaled he would do. As Michael Graham with the NH Journal reported last month:
