Cincinnati Council is so far suggesting no cuts to the recommended budget for next fiscal year. Instead, council members have each proposed additional budget items using money left over from last year’s American Rescue Plan stimulus, plus some “wiggle room” in the city’s capital budget. That adds up to about $1.4 million.
Cincinnatians are pushing for better pedestrian safety, but solutions may be harder to agree on. More than a hundred pedestrians have been hit by cars so far this year, according to city data published on Cincy Insights.
Finalists for the next Cincinnati city manager will go through at least 10 interviews during the hiring process. Mayor Aftab Pureval will choose a few finalists, who will each meet with every council member one-on-one.
