The Cal Poly Humboldt Department of Dance, Music, and Theatre will present the jazz combos The King’s Milk Quartet, The Groovy Goobers and Lil Swaqq Friday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m. at the Fulkerson Recital Hall on the university campus in Arcata.
The program will include performances by the Vipisa Trio with members Cindy Moyer, violin, Ginny Ryder, saxophone and John Chernoff, piano, performing "Cantilène et Danse" by Mark Eychenne.
"Danzas Latinoamericanas" (Latin American Dances) is a 10-minute suite in three movements. It was originally commissioned by Mexican cellist Carlos Prieto. It is based on some of the national dances of Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, respectively.
