What im describing. The beneficiaries that are targeted underserved communities in louisiana, mississippi, alabama, and the florida panhandle. There are four components to this. The first is a program serving the developing improved Community Health programs. It is run by Louisiana Public Health Institute joined with the Alliance Institute which is a communitybased organization. There is a mental and Behavioral Health program which has Louisiana State university, southern mississippi university, the university of South Alabama and the university of west florida. There is a Literacy Program which includes a washington based group. Thats got the literacy aimed at the literacy of the community and the Community Workers and those involved in with Community Activism and community projects. Finally, there is a Community Health Worker Training Program that is based at the university of South Alabama. When people in the government get worried, sometimes what they do is they draft memos. Because when theyre concerned about getting caught up in something that doesnt seem right, they dont want to be a part of it. So, on that day, mark sandy and other colleagues at omb drafted and sent a memo about Ukraine Military aid to acting director vaughn. According to sandy, the memo advocated for the release of the funds. It said that the military aid was consistent with American National security interests, it would help to oppose russian aggression, and it was backed by strong bipartisan support. But President Trump did not lift the hold. Over the next several weeks, omb continued to issue funding documents that kept kicking the can down the road. Supposedly to allow for more of this, quote, interagency process. Well, inserting those footnotes throughout the apportionment documents stating the delay wouldnt affect the funding. We work with states and local communities to prepare for and respond to disasters of all types like Hurricane Sandy while supporting recovery and rebuilding. Put simply, the automatic Budget Reduction mandated by sequestration would be disrupted and destructive to our Nation Security and economy. It would negatively affect the Mission Readiness and capabilities of the men and women on our front line. It would undermine the significant progress we have made over the past 10 years to build a nations preparedness and resiliency.
