Sydney Roosters forward Victor Radley’s State of Origin hopes are in doubt after he was sin-binned twice and placed on report on a further two occasions as Brisbane enforcer Tevita Pangai jnr inspired his side to a shock 34-16 triumph at the SCG.
Pangai, who targeted rookie Roosters halfback Sam Walker and engaged in a running battle with Radley, was the star in an impressive Broncos performance as Kevin Walters men bounced back from a 50-6 loss to Manly to record just their third win of the season.
Five-eighth Albert Kelly was also a standout in his first NRL appearance for seven years, while veteran winger David Mead scored the third hat-trick of his career to spoil the Roosters tribute to retired co-captain Jake Friend and the debut of 17-year-old sensation Jospeh Suaalii.
