Norman s City Council election results were finalized around 8 p.m. Tuesday, leaving one race to be decided in a runoff and one incumbent unseated by a Unite Norman endorsed challenger.

Kyle Phillips / The Transcript Matt McGarry has won the Ward 2 City Council seat, beating out two opponents Tuesday. Unofficial results from the Oklahoma State Election Board s site show that with all precincts reporting, Matt McGarry received 51.32% of the vote, Jay Wendorff received 42.27% of the vote, and John Argo received 5.24%.  Edward McGuire filed for the seat and appeared on the ballot, but dropped out of the race. McGuire received 29 total votes.  I want to thank all of the voters of Ward 2, McGarry said in a text message Tuesday. The following is a summary of their answers to several questions. Ward 1 Brandi Studley’s first priority is transportation, especially a plan to help those who live in a food desert where a bus stop is not close to a grocery store, she said. While Studley said she has been speaking with Ward 7 Councilor Stephen Holman about the city’s transportation plan, she did not specify a plan to pay for a stop in the area.
