David J. du Plessis was born near Cape Town in South Africa on February 7, 1905. His parents became Pentecostal Christians in 1914 through the ministries of John G. Lake and Thomas Hezmalhalch; both had come out of John Alexander Dowieâs ministry in Zion, Illinois.
