Part of Pitcairn Road and Stroschein Road will be closed to film the Showtime series “American Rust.”
Fidelis Productions, LLC was granted a permit to film on June 18 from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m.
John Adkins, location manager for Fidelis Productions, said the show has filmed on the road three times before. The show has also filmed scenes in the North Hills and Don’s Diner.
Filming will take place on Pitcairn Road between the Sugar Camp Park entrance in Pitcairn Borough and on Tilbrook Road and Stroschein Road between Pitcairn Road and Wyngate Drive in Monroeville.
Residents living along those streets will be notified in advance about filming and continue to have access to their homes.

Operation Rudolph gets ready to fly
Kiwanis will start delivering Christmas presents to local families during the week
Gift cards, stuffed animals, shampoo and art kits came pouring into Operation Rudolph headquarters this past week as the last names were checked off Santa s list. By the middle of this week, all the gifts will be wrapped, sorted and organized for delivery. Kiwanis will pick up the bags and start deliveries, said Kim Schmith, Kiwanis board member and Operation Rudolph coordinator. The goal is to have gifts delivered by this weekend, so the families know Christmas has been taken care of.

Clinton Becker “The Honest Car Guy” at Wilmington Auto Center Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram is giving away a free car, plus gas and oil changes for a year, and Trusty Insurance is providing free car insurance for a year to “a deserving individual who has already been picked out, but it’s Santa’s little secret who this could be,” says Becker.
“This person is soo deserving it’s not funny,” said Becker. “This person did something in my last fundraiser that just showed me what a truly giving person is.”
