MUMBAI: A 24-year-old man, who had been recently arrested in a case of break-in and subsequently tested Covid positive, escaped from a quarantine facility at Kandivali West where he had been admitted. Dressed in PPE kits, a bunch of policemen tracked him within 24 hours while he was trying to meet his wife.
Karim Khan, an autorickshaw driver by profession, had been arrested on April 25 for breaking into a provision store a few days earlier and stealing dry fruits and cash collectively worth Rs 4 lakh. A magistrate court sent him to judicial custody. As he had tested positive for Covid-19, he was denied entry to the prison. The police then lodged him at a quarantine centre located in Sai Nagar.
