Paul Heyman Shoots Down Radio Personalityâs Claim He Turned Down the Job of Being Joey Styles );
During a recent episode of his radio show Carton and Roberts (via Wrestling Inc), radio personality Craig Carton claimed he was offered a job to announce for ECW, where he would go by the named Joey Styles. The man that was hired to be Styles, Joseph Bonsignore, was hired in 1993.
Carton claims:
âI was once offered a job in wrestling when I worked in Philly. I donât even know the name of the company (at the time). It was in the mid 90s. I was going to be Joey Styles, I was on the WIP Radio in Philadelphia, someone came to me from ECW and said, âweâd love you to be our ringside announcer, and youâre gonna go by the name Joey Styles.â My schedule didnât allow it or something. I donât remember being against it, because I wasnât making much money. I donât remember why I didnât take up the job. But I was going to be Joey Styles

MLW Underground Series Returning Next Week
Major League Wrestling has announced that their MLW Underground series is returning next Wednesday.
The classic series originally aired from 2003-2004. MLW started releasing some of the throwback episodes back during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, and they were a hit with fans. Now they are bringing the series back, beginning next Wednesday at 7pm ET on YouTube, Fubo Sports, DAZN, beIN SPORTS and the Roku Channel.
“During the pandemic we reintroduced our classic series and a whole new wave of fans were taken by MLW Underground and frankly were disappointed it stopped airing this fall,” MLW CEO Court Bauer said in a press release. “So, we’re bringing it back when possible as interludes in-between some of our tentpole events.”
