Joey Halvorson was celebrated Friday, April 6, for earning the 2023 Brainerd Citizen of the Year award and a spot in the 2024 Brainerd Public Schools Distinguished Achievement Hall of Fame class.

One student called me up and said, Do you think I should show in the exhibit? and I said, Sure, said curator Evelyn Matthies, who came up with the idea for the exhibit last spring along with Kent Montgomery, another Franklin Arts Center artist. And he said, Am I gonna be graded?
