For film studios, January is a time to release movies that you would consider to be less than stellar. The holidays are over and people are going back to work. They don’t have as much time to go to the movies, and if they do, they’re more likely to watch one of the big, buzzy Christmas movies they didn’t get a chance to see or one of the movies from the previous year that’s starting to get some Oscar buzz. So January has become the perfect spot on the calendar to release your more forgettable movies. It’s called a “dump month” and it’s were film studios and it’s where studios will put their movies that seem like they have limited commercial success, but might be contractually obligated to release.

ASHEBORO, N.C. Many people are looking forward to the end of 2020, but what if we could bury it all together?
One North Carolina man used that question to set up a time capsule project that is gaining traction around the world.
Joel Leonard calls it “Bury 2020.”
He encourages everyone to build a time capsule and fill it with a few items to help you remember this year, both the good and the bad times, so future generations can learn from it.
“Everybody’s world’s been disrupted by this whole year,” Leonard says. “And all the challenges and changes that we’ve had to contend with, this gives us a little power. Somebody’s gonna get this, and they’re gonna value that.
This year has been hard for a lot of people, and there s a lot about 2020 that people want to bury and forget.
Asheboro resident Joel Leonard began an international effort to bury 2020. But he s doing it not to forget but to make sure future generations remember.
Leonard started a time capsule project called Bury 2020. He s already had people from across the world express interest, including in India, the Philippines, South Africa and Ireland. His goal is to have at least 100 groups make capsules by the end of December.
Leonard first thought of the idea last year, thinking of 2020 as a milestone year that would be good to remember in the future. He reached out to some people but received a lukewarm response.
