Me and close to my heart. For some context why that is, back in 2021 i wrote the initial draft proclamation that designating august as transgender History Month. I was inspired by the cafeteria riots on an august 9 in 1966. We dont know exactly what day it happened but we do know that it happened in august. I asked myself, why is it that we dont know what day it happened . It is monumental history. Why dont we know . The sad reality of it is that this monumental occurrence was so major and unlike anything that had ever occurred before at that scale in the United States , that an effort to eliminate it from records and existence ensued.
