A veteran Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy has died six months after he was seriously hurt when a fire broke out inside a trailer serving as a mobile shooting range. An attorney for his family says Alfredo “Freddy” Flores died from his injuries Saturday night. Flores and another longtime deputy were critically hurt when equipment malfunctioned at a training facility northwest of downtown LA on Oct. 10. The department hasn’t released the results of its investigation into the accident. The trailer had two “firing lanes” inside, and one of the deputies was participating in required firearms qualification.
