What to know since Indianapolis lifted its mask mandate
Effective June 8, Indianapolis and Marion County became one of the last locations in Indiana to roll back mask rules. Now, fully vaccinated people don t have to wear a mask in public places. Roughly 355,000 Marion County residents are fully vaccinated. I m

Johnson & Johnson vaccinations halted
Just as a six-day mass vaccination clinic was opening at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that it was recommending a pause in the use of the vaccine after noticing six severe rare blood clots in women who had received the vaccine. Soon after, Indiana paused the use of the J&J vaccine.
The IMS clinic is now administering the Moderna vaccine. Around 6,000 people had signed up to receive the vaccine each day of the six-day clinic.

Marion County and at least nine other counties have announced plans to keep existing mask mandates in place, Justin Mack writes. Read more in his story.
In Hamilton County, the mask mandate and capacity restrictions at businesses were dropped on April 6.
Hamilton County will still require masks in county buildings, just as the new order requires them in state buildings and schools, John Tuohy writes. The cities of Westfield, Noblesville and Carmel will also require them in municipal buildings. Read John Tuohy s full story here.
