Big Ten Bracketology: Projected NCAA Tournament Seeds, Women's Tourney

I’m generally cool with Northwestern hanging onto that 6-seed, and with the upset of Michigan they shouldn’t fall to a 7 no idea on if UCLA is good as the 3-seed in their region, but staying away from the 1s and 2s for as long as possible is a good way to see a Sweet 16. See above for Michigan. I’m sure falling from 5 to 6 isn’t ideal, but the only functional difference appears to be an average P5 school instead of a mid-major champion. To be honest, I’d take the P5 grab-bag over whatever weirdness you’ll get from, say, a South Dakota or a Stephen F. Austin.

Big Ten Bracketology: Of Rutgers, wisconsin, and.Sparty?!.who do you rank highest? NIT Bracketology: An ESPN wet dream, a case for Penn State Conference Tournaments: Bids on the line tonight! Well, it’s that time again: with the Big Ten Tournament on the horizon and the Horizon League Tournament looming big tonight, we need another confusing round of Big Ten Bracketology. And, thankfully, Related The Case for a 1-Seed In light of those upsets, REFS, and general shenanigans, I wanted to give our various Michigan, Illinois, and Iowa contributors the chance to make their case for why their team deserves a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament. As of publishing, Illinois’s and Iowa’s representatives have responded:

Big Ten Bracketology, NCAA Tournament Bubble Watch: Michigan State hanging on?

Given the last week, I’d probably slide the Iowa Hawkeyes into the Baylor regional and knock the Bucks down a peg. Identical records, the Hawkeyes leading in NET and Kenpom and Sagarin, oh my.there doesn’t seem to be a reason that Iowa wouldn’t eventually slide up into the higher of the 2-seeds. Unless there’s a loss, my answer is just to reshuffle these four teams above as the 3-4-5-6 overall seeds. Keeps them out of each other’s way, is probably an accurate representation of how good they are. Purdue ran the “Have Zach Edey Be Tall” play to great effect last night, and I don’t think I’ll stop talking about the Brad Davison three off the side of the backboard, with the chaser of Davison a former high school quarterback, you know! throwing the saddest fucking Hail Mary I’ve ever seen and getting picked off around midcourt.
