Although it is a shame that we are losing Boston Beer Works, we still have one of my favorite pre-Red Sox game hangs, the Cask n Flagon on Lansdown Street. Not to be confused with the Bull n Finch pub which was the pub that Cheers, the famous TV show, was inspired by.

BeerWorks – a local chain of breweries and brewpubs – announced their permanent closure on Monday.
“Sad to say but we’ve brewed and served our last beers,” read a statement posted on the company’s website and signed by President Joe Slesar. “We’ve decided to pack it in due to the pandemic and all that.”
BeerWorks announced their permanent closure of all locations on their website.

According to BrewBound, BeerWorks first opened in 1992 at their location across the street from Fenway Park. The brewery became popular there – especially during Red Sox games – and soon opened more locations.
