LAKE CHARLES â McNeese starting pitcher Will Dion made McNeese baseballâs return to Joe Miller Ball Park a record-setting as the Sulphur native tied a school record with 19 strikeouts in leading the Cowboys to a 5-0 complete-game shutout win over Prairie View in the first game of a four-game weekend series.
âItâs great to be home,â said head coach Justin Hill. âWe talked about it as a team. It was almost like a haze, surreal. Iâm glad we had Will Dion going tonight. It allowed us to settle in. Iâm proud of how we played. We played good on defense and we put some good swings on the ball.â

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Amidst all the noise and construction surrounding McNeese’s Joe Miller Ball Park, or The Jeaux, including repairing the stadium lights, scoreboard and sound system, just to name a few, the McNeese Cowboys have been preparing for its home opening weekend series against Prairie View which will get underway on Friday at 6 p.m.
The schedule for the four-game series has changed for Saturday and Sunday with the doubleheader now scheduled for Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. and Sunday’s finale at 1.
