Massachusetts authorities announced Tuesday that human remains and a car belonging to a missing 17-year-old girl were recently recovered, marking a break in the cold case that stretches back four decades.
Divers discovered a variety of human remains in the Concord River after finding parts of a 1972 Dodge Dart Singer whose Vehicle Identification Number matched Judith Chartier s.
Investigators say they recovered a car from the Concord River on Tuesday that belonged to a teen from Chelmsford, Massachusetts, who went missing nearly 40.
"This is a very significant development in this case and we are still processing the car for any additional evidence," the district attorney said.
