Banding Endangered Red-cockaded Woodpeckers at Pebble Hill Plantation – May 8, 2021
Pebble Hill Plantation in Thomasville, Georgia is pleased to announce the upcoming program, “Banding Endangered Red-cockaded Woodpeckers at Pebble Hill Plantation,” on Saturday, May 8 at 10:00 a.m. The program is being presented by Joe Burnam, Wildlife Biologist with the Wildlife Conservation Section of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
Did you know Pebble Hill Plantation is home to one of the Southeast’s rarest birds – the red-cockaded woodpecker? Through many years of prescribed fire and careful forest management, Pebble Hill’s longleaf pine forest has provided important foraging and nesting habitat for this special bird.
