The Otisco Township Board passed a noise ordinance at Tuesday’s meeting designed to put a stop to one local resident’s year-long reign of audio terror. The new ordinance contains numerous exceptions for regular activities such as birthday parties, construction and public events. Violations would be municipal civil infractions with fines as high as $1,000 for repeat offenders, plus costs and fees.
The Otisco Township Board on Tuesday evening took another step toward order and civility in their public meetings. Public comment was handled in an orderly fashion, row by row, with Supervisor Desmond Pike calling on each person individually after raising their hands.
