Way. Breaking news now in oakland where crews are on the scene of a two alarm fire at a middle school. It began just before 2 00 this morning at Claremont Middle School on college avenue. Investigators say the fire began in the kitchen area of the cafeteria. And then spread to the attic. The building is a large building. The fire had a good head start on us. And because of the high ceilings in here, and the thick acoustic tiles on the ceiling, it made it very difficult to get to it. Firefighters say when they arrived, the door to the cafeteria was open but the cause is still under investigation. Crews have the fire controlled within 45 minutes. No class today because of president s day. And its not clear yet whether the fire will have any impact when students return tomorrow.
