economically, jon. bret: there is the policy portion of all this. what about the politics? the president is hitting the campaign trial, missouri and nevada, how valuable is that. reporter: he s going to travel 40 miles south to downtowtodowntown sass city, fus for robin carnahan. republicans would love to hold that missouri republican senate seat as they drive to gain seats such as in nevada taking democratic seats away from them. that race in nevada between harry reid and sharron angle. robert gibbs the white house press secretary has already said the president is going to be very tough on republicans, john boehner who called the bp compensation funds $20 billion to pay claims a slush fund. the republican nominee in nevada said she agreed with joe barden
all the way down to $1,000 a couple. and what they re calling a grassroot reception at a well-known local landmark called the folly theater here, $1,000 on down to $17 a head. a lot of politics here. the white house telegraphed this will be largely political. he ll be mentioning the john boehner weapon comment. he ll be bringing up joe barden again. when we get to nevada later today, backing harry reid. i m sure he ll be talking about recent comments there about the bp bailout from sharon engel, the republican challenger. yes, a political overtone to the two-day trip for the president. two events for the vulnerable senate majority leader harry reid. everyone who lives in nevada is happy to hear you correct your pronunciation. say nevada. usually i m responsible for correcting everyone. i usually do it in private, not
