A group aimed at helping nonprofits in the Grand Traverse region is celebrating some major growth in 2021.
Impact 100 started five years ago in Traverse City – with the goal of 100 women joining the effort, to each contribute $1,000 to a local nonprofit. In their first year they set a world record with 255 members. It’s a record that still stands for a first-year chapter. But this year they’ve hit an all new high.
Now 330 women are joining the cause to support their community. Impact 100 Board President Jody Trietch says, “We are able to offer 3 grants of $110,000 each in 2021. Which is just truly fantastic, especially given such a challenging year for so many to have grown our impact.” Trietch adds that the contributors may include a husband donating in memory of his wife, or a son in memory of his mother.
