Collie is set to become home to WA’s first graphite processing plant, backed by a $2 million grant from the McGowan Government.
Western Australian based company International Graphite will establish the new micronising and graphite foil manufacturing facility in Collie’s light industrial area.
The first stage of the project is expected to create around 40 full-time jobs for people in Collie and the surrounding region, with plans to expand the facility to add manufacturing capability.

Opposition Leader Zak Kirkup took his metaphorical DeLorean for a ride through the timestream this week as he went backwards with a failed Barnett policy from 2017 whilst simultaneously dragging the Liberal Party into the future with an energy policy that is downright green.
Itâs been hard to keep up with the strategies from team Kirkup which racked up more than $1 billion of promises since Saturday as the Liberals wasted no time in restarting campaign activities once the Wooroloo fire was under control.
