KSAMC virtual Christmas Tree Lighting set for Sunday

December 18, 2020 With a ban on large public gatherings still in effect, the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) will hold its annual Christmas Tree Lighting event virtually. Set for this Sunday, the event is scheduled to be aired on TVJ at 5 p.m. and will feature an entertainment showcase featuring performers like Shenseea, Ding Dong, and the Tivoli Dance Troupe. People wanted a show because they know the KSAMC always delivers and they didn t want just a show but they want the tree lit so that the children can still go to the park and take photos at the tree as is customary. It s a tradition and it would have been a shame to just let that go this year, said Jodiann James, public relations officer at the municipality. COVID is still happening but with the help of technology, we can still share the cheer and joy of Christmas.
