The fleet got off the line cleanly into a drag race for the lesser tide at the edge of the channel. At the end of lap one it was Martin & Ian followed by Archie & Harvey battling for the win. In the end Martin & Ian held on to the lead until the end but Glen & Ed managed to overtake Archie & Harvey up the final beat to clinch second.
