captions paid for by nbc-universal television que hacer un aterrizaje forzado i m savannah guthrie. i m matt lauer. we ll have complete coverage from here at the republican national convention in just a couple minutes. but first, savannah, the first squalls from that tropical storm isaac are being felt. now they re in parts of louisiana and mississippi as we speak. wind speeds are at 70 miles an hour, a few miles per hour short of hurricane strength. the two biggest concerns with this storm, a six to 12 foot storm surge possible from mississippi to southeast louisiana, including new orleans. and then flooding rains. the region could see as much as 20 inches over the next 48 hours or so. we ll get a live report from al in new orleans straight ahead. meanwhile, mitt romney and paul ryan are expected to arrive here in tampa today and security is very tight. an 8-foot fence is now surrounding what s called the secure zone, which includes this convention hall and the hotels
