Jump start for local hospo jobs
Yarra Ranges Council has partnered with our local training organisations, Box Hill Institute Lilydale and Cire Training, to deliver the Hospitality Jump Start for Jobs program.
This series of face-to-face training courses will help local people learn essential skills for working in our hospitality businesses, and help our local businesses find and employ people with the skills they need.
Yarra Ranges Mayor, Fiona McAllister said that providing training locally will benefit many people in the community, from young people to older adults taking up training.
“Hospitality and tourism businesses are at the heart of our Yarra Ranges lifestyle and economy. Our cafés, restaurants, vineyards, gardens and other attractions draw thousands of visitors to the hills and valleys, and makes our region such a vibrant place to live,” she said.

A council has struck a deal that will see a new film and television studio complex built at a £6 billion development. The complex, set to be the largest inside the North Circular, will be built at the Meridian Water Development following a deal between Enfield Council and Troubadour Theatres. The complex will be known as Troubadour Meridian Water Studios and will assist with the economic regeneration of Edmonton and Enfield, with hundreds of new jobs set to be created. It is set to open by spring this year. Meridian Water is Enfield Council’s flagship regeneration programme, with plans for 10,000 new homes and thousands of new jobs delivered over the next 20 – 25 years supported by the recently opened Meridian Water station.
