With trillions of dollars flowing into cities and counties around the country aimed at infrastructure projects that also bolster energy efficiency and renewable energy use, communities like Missoula find themselves needing more workers to actually carry out the projects they have funding for. In Missoula, a forthcoming pre-apprenticeship program seeks to help build that workforce by offering young and low-income women a pathway to trade jobs in which women have historically been underrepresented.
