opportunity to see the flow and safe removal of students and faculty, how effective has it been to get everybody as far away from job hall as possible right now? reporter: we haven t seen any student and faculty movement on the campus. there were some students on the quad. i m not seeing them anymore. they were all in a group. but the school s on lockdown so there should be no students moving around. once they clear a building, and i can t see it from where i am anymore, but from what i understand, they are going to clear buildings and evacuate if possible, but right now, i can t see any student movement at all. for those of us that are not familiar with delta state university, explain to all of us what campus life is like in cleveland, what the student body is like, the makeup of kids and students that attend this school. reporter: delta state is pretty diverse and makes up a huge part of cleveland.
and thanks for being here. explain what you re seeing right now from a police presence and also from an emergency response presence around the campus. reporter: we ve got all of the police from the surrounding area here. we ve got county sheriff s department, cleveland volunteer fire department, cleveland police department, then we also have washington county, two different counties, all here on campus. they set up a command center. i m standing across the street from the command center. we were closer this morning but when there was a rumor to be a second shooter, we moved. we re across the street now. let s talk about that, because one thing we do have confirmed is there was one death, one shooter, all happening in job hall. there was the unconfirmed talk of the potential for a second shooter. that is not confirmed. reporter: right. but when you have had an

first heard the news and what kind of communication you had with your son, where was he at the time of the shooting. yes, my office our office, the cleveland current, is located on court street. and most of the emergency personnel, when they head to campus, they go right by our office. and we heard all the sirens going off. i guess it s about 10:15 this morning. 10:20. and we all kind of looked around and i said, i m going to see what s going on. so i got in my car. soon as i got down the road, i got the text that said emergency alert, and my phone started blowing up about an active shooter on campus. people were calling to check on my son. and i arrived on campus immediately as a mom who was concerned about her child. he was actually in job hall where the shooting occurred. he was on the floor above where
