‘Recipe for Disaster’: Taco Libre’s famous ‘Birizza’ taco pizza

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Let me ask you two questions, Staten Island: Do you like tacos? And do you like pizza?
Of course you said yes to both, because those were stupid questions. But did you know that there’s a restaurant on the North Shore that combines the two into one outstanding, delicious creation?
The place is Taco Libre, located inside Wynwood at 24 Navy Pier Court in the Urby development. And the distinguished dish is called the “Birizza” a pizza made out of birria taco ingredients.
Chefs Joaquin Castillo and Nuh Duraku are co-owners of the taco joint, which proudly boasts that their recipes are “the tacos with the juice.” So I had to try and figure out what made their recipes so special.
