Charity: Phil Taylor of Mencap is delighted that the experts are giving up their time to help A TEAM of financial experts are getting together for a two-hour online advice session for the public which will hopefully bring in much-needed funds for a local charity as well as helping people invest their pounds wisely. The idea for the online advice session comes from mortgage adviser Ian Watters and mortgage paraplanner Ewa Brzeska of Truly Independent Ltd in Carlisle, and they are hoping that the two-hour online session, between midday and 2pm on Tuesday, will give a welcome boost to Carlisle Mencap.
AS Cumbria continues to grapple with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic many of the county’s business leaders have started to focus on preparing for the future. Following a year of tough decisions, many business owners are now starting to turn their attentions to making sure they are ready to trade when the third national lockdown final ends. In some cases this means recruiting new staff and changing business models. LocaliQ and Newsquest Cumbria – the parent company of The Mail, News & Star, The Westmorland Gazette, The Cumberland News, the Times and Star and The Whitehaven News are wanting to help with this process with their ‘Working for Cumbria’ campaign.
