Saugus seniors struggle to schedule COVID-19 immunizations

Wicked Local In recent days, the Saugus Senior Center has fielded numerous calls from senior citizens frustrated with their inability to book an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. “We’re hearing from residents age 75 and over who don’t have computers and don’t know how to get the vaccine,” said Senior Center Executive Director Joanne Olsen. Under the state’s rollout plan, residents age 75 and older are eligible to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine starting Feb. 1. Gov. Charlie Baker has encouraged people 75 and up to go to the state’s website at mass.gov/covidvaccine to find a vaccination site and schedule an appointment to be immunized.
