New mental health program for youth aims to close gaps in care

Step Up Step Down is a bilingual live-in treatment program for young people ages 12 to 17 who have complex mental health needs. The program, which has six beds, will serve both male and female participants for up to 30 days. It is a joint initiative between the Youth Services Bureau (YSB) and CHEO, eastern Ontario s children s hospital in Ottawa, and Le CAP, a French-language mental health service.

Sign Up An enhanced visiting scheme has reunited more than 600 relatives and close friends with care home residents since it started more than half a year ago. Sunrise Senior Living UK and Gracewell Healthcare care groups identified residents who were deteriorating and invited relatives to become part of their care plan, developing a “Safe Visits” protocol to enable meaningful contact during the pandemic.

Following discussions between the Town Council and local policing team, a decision has been made to returned the picnic benches to the Market Place - this time with picket fencing and astro turf. Gail Foster: It does look a bit like a crazy golf course but someone has put a bit of effort in to making it look nice for us when they didn t really have to and even if it s not to our taste we should maybe bear that in mind.
