Ardagh Girl Guides had a World Thinking Day that they will forget as they witnessed the birth of an Aberdeen Angus bull over Zoom and named him Baden, after Robert Baden-Powell, founder of the Girl Guides movement whose birthday is also celebrated on Thinking Day.
February 22 is a very important day in the Girl Guiding calendar, World Thinking Day.
In normal circumstances there would be a ceremony and girls from all units would get together to celebrate together.
Celebrated since 1926, World Thinking Day is a day of international friendship. It is an opportunity to speak out on issues that affect young women and fundraise for 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 150 countries all members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.
Ardagh virtual concert attracts global audience

The end of the Winter term would normally see Ardagh Music Room Christmas Concert, and students performing a selection of Christmas tunes and pieces they’ve been working on throughout the year.
The events of 2020 were not going to stop this annual occasion taking place in some format and so on the evening of Sunday, December 20 families joined together online to share a Virtual Christmas Concert.
All the pianists submitted a short video of themselves playing their own choice of pieces and with thanks to Kaj Klimski for editing and creating an evening’s entertainment for all of Ardagh Music Room’s families.
