KOTA KINABALU: A controversy is brewing over the just-concluded Unduk Ngadau (Harvest Queen) cultural pageant when one of the beauty contestants alleged that she was sexually molested by a politician.
KOTA KINABALU: An Unduk Ngadau (Harvest Queen) participant has lodged a report claiming she was sexually molested by a pageant official, who is also a politician.
KOTA KINABALU: The top 21 Unduk Ngadau finalists will be chosen by professional judges and not through the pay-to-vote system due to strong public backlash, says Joanna Kitingan.
“We thought it would be easier and cheaper to have the Unduk Ngadau competition being held partly online. However, the technicalities have proven to be more expensive than expected, ” said the Unduk Ngadau Borderless Kaamatan chairperson.
The results will be known on Monday (May 24) evening, where a Zoom meeting will be held together with the contestants to reveal the finalists.
However, she added that the pay-to-vote system would still apply for the Popular Title.
