KENT COUNTY, Mich. â The Kent County Health Department (KCHD) and area schools are piloting a study that reduces the amount of space between students in the classroom.
The study cuts social distancing in pre-K-through-eighth-grade classrooms from three feet to six feet. Its goal is to reduce âover-quarantining.â
âIf you have a seven-year-old child, and all of a sudden you get a call that theyâre fine, but they were close to another child who tested positive, and they need to stay home for many days in a row, youâre given essentially just a few minutes notice⦠we know thatâs extremely disruptive,â said Dan Behm, superintendent at Forest Hills Public Schools.
