Wevelinghoven Joan Noble hat sich künstlerisch mit dem Massenselbstmord auseinandergesetzt, der sich vor 925 Jahren in Wevelinghoven ereignete. Die Künstlerin lebt in England und ist Nachfahrin einer jüdischen Familie aus Grevenbroich.
Drucken Die Erftlandschaft rund um die Motte in Wevelinghoven war vor 925 Jahren – am Abend des 24. Juni 1096 – Schauplatz eines grausigen Ereignisses. Menschen jüdischen Glaubens begingen dort Massensuizid, um Gewalt, Mord und Zwangstaufe zu entgehen. An diese Tat erinnert eine Ausstellung im Denkhaus am Klosterweg. Monday saw one of the most significant days in reopening of businesses following lockdown restrictions, as hospitality venues were able to open their doors to welcome customers inside for the first time since December.
Cafes and bars in Omagh and the surrounding areas were a hive of activity as friends met up for lunch, coffees and pints for the first time this year.
