Joan Milewski doesn t have a computer.
She s in her late 70s (though she refuses to describe herself as anything other than middle-aged ) and gave up having a computer when she entered retirement. She didn t want one, didn t need one and her kids could call her if they wanted to reach her.
So when she learned about the COVID-19 vaccine and the quickest way to sign up for one was online it felt unfair. If you don t have a computer, you have to wait, said Milewski, who lives in the Oneida County village of New York Mills. And the phones are always busy, busy, busy.
