JNâs Musical Feast Delights
âTogether Weâre Strongâ serves up variety of Jamaican performing arts
The Jamaica National Group made good on its promise to provide a bountiful buffet of musical treats to kick-start Christmas, with an exhilarating concert dubbed âTogether Weâre Strongâ on Christmas Sunday, December 20.
More than 40,000 people across the groupâs social media platforms tuned in and remained glued for two solid hours of electrifying performances from instrumentalists, singers and poets; and for reminiscences of Christmas traditions, present and past.
The event, which was organised to raise funds for hundreds of vulnerable children cared for by the Mustard Seed Communities, provided a boon for the charity, currently reeling from COVID-19, which has significantly affected its sources of funding.
This Christmas is an Opportunity for Even More Togetherness
THE QUEEN of Reggae,” Marcia Griffiths says this Christmas, though during a pandemic, is an opportunity for more families to be even more together than they’ve been before, especially those which often find themselves busier during this period.
“We are appreciating our families and our loved ones more and this is very important. Family is first, so we have to see the good in all things. All we have is each other and togetherness with our loved ones is important, Griffiths said.
Reflecting on the entertainment industry over the past nine months, the internationally acclaimed, chart-topping reggae icon, who has been in the business for more than half a century, says that the COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the industry.
