Saudi Arabia s Vision 2030 repeats old mistakes of relying heavily on new megaprojects and ignoring regional advantages in research and education.
When Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed bin Salman gave an update on Vision 2030 in an interview last month, his optimism was substantially more muted than at its unveiling five years ago. This is hardly surprising to anybody who is familiar with the Gulf’s Visions. Vision 2030 is hardly the kingdom’s first attempt at economic transition, nor is it in any way unique in the region. Every GCC member country has a plan how to wean its economy off rentier paradigm based on fossil fuel wealth.

A new stone bridge, 90 meters (295 feet) long, stretches above Nahal Taninim near the mouth of the river. It has four large arches, and pedestrians and bicyclists can comfortably cross from the southern to the northern bank of the river and back without getting their feet wet.
The separate worlds of Jisr al-Zarqa and of Kibbutz Ma’agan Michael have been connected, and the former, an Arab town whose name means “a bridge over the blue river,” has been given an actual bridge.
The bridge isn’t entirely new. It’s a reconstruction of the bridge that was built by the rulers of Ottoman Palestine in 1898 in honor of the visit of Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany to the Holy Land.
this is where the storm is located. this squiggly line is the pass path, and it is moving to the south/southwest, and it is expected to stall. it won t make it to cuba, bow just about where it is now, and then turn to the north. cat 3 and possibly cat 4. the bigger picture here, and you will see that it tryied to clea the eye out, and now the crooked islands here, and the eye of the center of the storms, and that has started a west look, and then it will move further to the north, and the storm, itself, it does not look like it is directly impacting any other land areas except for the central bahamas except for three days, and it is a slow mover and then it will take the turn, and this is 8:00 a.m. saturday, and the category 3 is a 125 miles per hour winds right now in the storm. and then the by the cone of uncertainty, maybe the cones are bigger than this, because some of the computer models are still into the carolinas, but a majority of them are trending further offshore.
