BJP leaders were detained by the Guntur Police for taking out a protest demanding that the Jinnah tower be renamed APJ Abdul Kalam Tower. Jinnah Tower, built in the 1940s, is a landmark monument located on Guntur's Mahatma Gandhi Road.
Several BJP leaders, including its national secretary Sunil Deodhar were taken into police custody when they sought to march to the Jinnah Tower Centre in Guntur on Tuesday evening demanding that it be renamed after A P J Abdul Kalam.
